T2 Wallet / 2021–2024

What if money could follow instructions?

Developing risk-managed payment tech to combat purchase fraud, late payments, and the uncertainty of everyday transactions.

01 / Introduction

A new way to move money.

Building trust into the transaction itself.

T2 was an investor-backed fintech venture developing programmable, risk-managed payments. Rather than treating payments as simple transfers, we envisioned a system where funds could move through a secure, conditional sequence shaped by agreements, approvals, and verification.

My role spanned product strategy, end-to-end UX/UI design, and leading a four-person development team. I also owned KYC integration planning and regulatory research, working with legal counsel to navigate compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

02 / The problem

The problem with payments is trust.

Someone always has to go first.

In any exchange of goods or services, one party has to go first. We asked: what if both parties could move through a secure payment sequence without either side taking on all the risk? What if the terms of their agreement could be written directly into the code governing the funds, with payments unlocked through a series of conditions, timers, and multi-signature verifications?

03 / The solution

What if money came with instructions?

Making payments programmable.

A payment was no longer simply a transfer from Wallet A to Wallet B. T2 introduced a programmable sequence where funds could be committed upfront, with agreed conditions, approvals, and verification steps governing how the transaction progressed and when payment was released.

Confirm the agreed exchange and determine payment release through the program’s rules.

04 / Product development

The complexity is in the conditions.

Designing for every state of a transaction.

The real challenge was designing beyond the ideal transaction. What happens when someone requests an amendment, misses a deadline, rejects a delivery, or needs to reverse an exchange? Each possibility introduced new states, dependencies, and decisions that had to work together as one coherent system.

05 / The mission

Good work deserves good payment.

Built with freelancers in mind.

The gig economy had created new ways for people to earn a living, but many independent workers still faced familiar problems: late payments, unreliable clients, and little protection when agreements fell apart.

T2 aimed to give buyers and sellers a more accountable way to transact, using identity verification and conditional payments to establish trust before the work began.

Extending the experience

06 / Regulatory & compliance

Money comes with rules.

Building for a world of financial regulation.

Programmable payments introduced challenges beyond software design. I worked with legal counsel to research licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions, sourced Jumio for identity verification, and helped incorporate KYC requirements into the wallet’s onboarding experience.

07 / Commercial strategy

Making the complicated make sense.

From product logic to a proposition people could understand.

A substantial part of my work was translating a technically complex product into clear presentations, demonstrations, investor materials, and commercial messaging. I also represented the venture in conversations with investors, regulators, and industry stakeholders across international markets.

Product positioning shaped the pitch, while demonstrations and GTM materials made the proposition tangible. Collision Conference and Dubai FinTech Summit were opportunities to take that story into the room, alongside stakeholder engagement across the UK, Dubai, Singapore, the Cayman Islands and Germany.

08 / My role & contribution

From concept to MVP.

Across people, product and execution.

T2 brought together much of my background in product, design, business, and technology. I led product planning and UX/UI work, managed a four-person development team, coordinated testing and regulatory research, and helped shape how the venture was presented to investors and prospective partners.

The team reported completion of the T2 Wallet, Freelancer, and Marketplace MVP in May 2024. It was a substantial product-development milestone, even though the venture did not ultimately achieve the commercial scale we had envisioned.
